Proton e.MAS 5 Launched in Nepal as Competition Intensifies in the EV Segmen

Kathmandu, Nepal Proton has officially introduced the e.MAS 5 electric vehicle in Nepal, adding another model to the country’s rapidly expanding electric vehicle market.

The e.MAS 5 has been introduced by Jagdamba Motors, the authorised distributor of Proton vehicles in Nepal. The launch marks another step in Proton’s strategy to expand its electric vehicle portfolio and strengthen its presence in the Nepali automotive market.

The new electric vehicle enters a market where demand for EVs has continued to grow, supported by increasing consumer interest in lower running costs, new automotive technologies and expanding charging infrastructure.

Proton has already established its presence in Nepal with the e.MAS 7, and the arrival of the e.MAS 5 further expands the company’s electric vehicle lineup for Nepali customers.

The introduction of the new model also comes as competition in Nepal’s EV segment continues to intensify, with manufacturers offering a wider range of electric cars across different price categories and vehicle segments.

With more EV models entering the market, factors such as pricing, driving range, charging capability, safety features, after-sales service and ownership costs are expected to remain important considerations for Nepali buyers.

The launch of the Proton e.MAS 5 adds another option to Nepal’s growing electric mobility landscape and reflects the continued shift of the country’s automobile market toward electric vehicles.
